Frequently asked questions
Is this different from visual whiteout?
Yes. Whiteout adds a visible shape over existing content; this redaction workflow removes the underlying page objects by rebuilding the affected page.
Why are affected pages flattened?
Flattening prevents hidden text, images, or vector objects from remaining beneath the visible redaction.
Will redacted pages still contain selectable text?
Not from the original page. The affected page becomes image-based unless you later run OCR.
Can I change or resize a selected area?
Yes. Select an area, drag a corner to resize it, and change its black, white, labeled, or custom solid appearance before downloading.
